Understanding & Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior

Aug 14, 2018 05:00 PM

An education program by the Alzheimer's Association at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service, 300 Highland Blvd., Bozeman.  Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost.  However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage.  Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer's disease.  Refreshments provided by Right at Home: In Home Care and Assistance.  Questions? Call: 800.272.3900 or email: montana@alz.org.

HOPE LUTHERAN ANNOUNCES GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

Sep 17, 2018 06:30 PM

Grief Support is for anyone who is dealing with grief following the death of a loved one - spouse, parent, sibling, friend, child.  The Grief Support Group at Hope Lutheran Church provides a safe, healing environment, especially for those who feel isolated or alone.

We will explore myths and the many facets of the grieving experience during a Grief Support Group which will be held on Monday, September 17th at 6:30 pm at Hope Lutheran Church, 2152 W. Graf Street (off of S. 19th Avenue).

We will be using a respected resource, Understanding Your Grief by Alan Wolfelt, Director of the Center for Loss and Life.

The first meeting will be informational in nature--we will explore grief issues and provide an outline of expectations for the following 8 group sessions.  Dar Ellingson and Kathy Weaver will facilitate the group.  If you have any questions or to register, please contact Dar at the church (586-5572) or dar@hopebozeman.com.
