Why Preplan

Making funeral arrangements beforehand gives you time to consider all your options and truly plan a service that’s unique to you. If you’re still on the fence, below are a few more reasons why preplanning is a good option.

Why Preplan

It's Simple

It’s as simple as completing a form or meeting with one of our staff members to put your plan in place. No matter your age, anyone can preplan, and you can make changes whenever you wish.

You Relieve the Burden

Preplanning relieves your family of that burden, so they can focus on grief and remembrance.

You’re in Control

When you preplan, you’re in control of creating a unique celebration of life. You also can include your family members in the planning, so the service reflects their wishes and needs as well.

There are Prepay Options

We deposit your prepayments into a trust fund where it stays until it’s needed. Prepaying generally means you save money since you’re protected from inflation and price changes, and it also gives your family members peace of mind knowing that the funeral expenses are taken care of.

How to Begin

Check out our planning checklist to see all your options. Then, you can plan online using our form or you can schedule a meeting with our staff to plan your personalized service details.

Additionally, we keep a record of your preplanned arrangements and prepayments, and they’re easily transferable to any funeral home in the United States if you were to move.

Christian Nash Burdick

Preplanning Counselor

I grew up in Alaska and Oregon. As a former United States Marine Corps Spouse of 23 years, I have had the opportunity to have lived on both coasts. Montana’s Gallatin County is now where I call home and being part of Dahl’s Team of Excellence is where I find my calling. As the Dahl Family Service Counselor, I am able to use my formal background in education and counseling psychology as well as my experiences serving our country as a US Marine Corps spouse to assist our families near and far. My faith, family, education, compassion, community and heart for people is what motivates me as a Family Service Counselor.

The privilege of meeting with families as the Family Service Counselor at Dahl is not only my job, but also something that I find great joy, purpose and fulfilment in. Having the opportunity to serve families of all faiths and aid our active-duty service members and veterans in ensuring the benefits they have earned, including their honorable burial and funeral benefits will always be a driving passion for me.

My responsibility is to ensure families in our community have the knowledge they need to make a wise and intelligent decision, which in many instances could affect their children and those they love for many years to come. I work hard to answer any questions you may have, provide the most current and comprehensive information available, discuss your choices and options while we, together, discover the path that will best provide for your family.

Pre-planning guards your family’s well-being and empowers our staff so that we will be able to care for your loved ones at a time when they will need guidance, direction and support the most. Whether it’s in the comfort of your home or in one of our many private meeting rooms at Dahl, my goal is to assure that we create a thoughtful roadmap that not only protects your family now but for years to come.

Dahl’s devotion to the families of Gallatin County and our belief that every life lived deserves to be honored sets us Dahl’s commitment to excellence in care and service along with our outstanding staff and facility are qualities that make us truly unique. apart.

I invite you to reach out and have me personally deliver your free Final Wishes Organizer, share knowledge, and hopefully answer any questions you may have. Whether you are looking for information about simple burial options, simple cremation options, or specific plans for either burial or cremation, my responsibility is to personalize your plan and to secure your wishes by putting them in writing.

Together, with you and our outstanding team at Dahl, ensuring that you and your family will be cared for lovingly now and in the future, is why preplanning is not only important, but it stands to be one of the greatest gifts we can bestow on those who we care for most! I value your time and cherish the opportunity to chat with you, to serve and honor you and your family!
